I’ve stopped by an article in O’Reilly weblogs titled The next 700 architectures? XML’s coming impact on software design by Rick Jelliffe.

I really liked the NetKernel concept. A kernel based on web server design. XML is used in communication between system and applications. Wich make the OS working like the Web.

XML is used as database, as programming langages … a Universal touch that really make changes in application design. It’s used to communicate in web to web, web to applications, applications to applications, or system to applications as it have been already said. And I really agree with :

I suspect that we haven’t seen anything yet, as far as XML’s mid-term impact on software design.
