If you are visiting Tunisia for the first time or if you are Tunisian and like many others who don’t know how to get from a destination to another in Tunis city or anywhere in the country, TNTN.info will probably help you. The service is a route finder, you select the first and the last destination and it will give you the different steps to follow to go there. For example from Ariana to Eljem :

1- Metro 2 from Ariana to Barcelone
2- Walk from Barcelone SNCFT train station
3- Train Tunis-Tatatouine until Eljem.

TNTN.info

The service currently gives only static information, but expect in the future an integration with Google maps and more useful information. Did I mention that the service is French only ?

Wednesday night I went on a two days trip to Medina, this was my first visit !! For someone who live that close what a shame, but hope to go again more frequently in the future because I really love it. Departure 10h09am, the bus reached the limit of Makkah, Taneem or Masjid Aicha, at 10h50pm, and around 11hpm we was already out of the city direction Medina Munawra. The bus just stopped at 1am to have a cup of tea and dinner, then continue after half an hour. Arrival at Medina at 3h35am, after the last checkpoint we passed beside Eir mountains. And around 4am I was already walking in the Haram of Medina Munawra.

Something that I have never seen anywhere, the Haram doors were closed and hundreds of people waiting outside. It was pretty cold, and it’s great because there is no place to keep my valise. I just put it in front of the door, so anyone interested can take it :-) When the door opened I went inside for the first time, impressed how big is the Haram compared to Makkah, especially that it was absolutely empty.

Yesterday I went on a trip in Thowal, about 130 or 150 Km in the north of Makkah direction of Medinah. It’s a very small city but I heard that the beach is very beautiful there, and in reality the red sea is almost the same everywhere. There is no real beach, rocks almost everywhere. We arrived a little before the sunset, my friends tried to find a good place to swim but unfortunately there was nothing good.

After Isha prayer came the dinner !! Miam miam, about 15kg of fish fried and grilled :-) I’m not fan of fish, but it was great, maybe better than last year trip. Everybody left the night few hours after dinner, but me with three other friends spend the night there and profit to go swimming in the morning. Lucky me, we find an excellent place for swimming and spend few great hours before going back home.
