Ajax magazine readersThe gap of 5000 readers have just been exceeded today with 5015 subscriptions at Ajax Magazine. Big thanks for everyone who contributed to the magazine and make it successful. The last months I wasn’t writing much news on Ajax industry as before, but I have really a lot of articles in the queue waiting to get finalized and published. There is also a new book coming in December on Django, and probably others. Ajax magazine was one of the very first blog launched on PHP Magazine Network in June 2005, and until today I’m really happy with its results.

The latest Open Handset Magazine is just 18 days old and count already 94 subscriptions. My favorite french IT network ITACTU still not on the top, even the website code is still in beta tests, but I’m counting a lot on it for the next years.

Today just announced AJAX4iPhone, new AJAX development portal for iPhone. It’s amazing that in about 4 days about 500′000 Apple’s iPhone units have been sold in US. Analysts have estimates that Apple earned between $50 and $150 during the weekend only. AJAX 4 iPhone will try to track AJAX application development for iPhones from development tools, techniques, free scripts, sample codes, and applications.

After that it have been confirmed that there is NO flash or flash lite support for iPhones, some are disappointed, but I think it will be a great point for AJAX applications development to lead the iPhones applications market. People interested to discuss AJAX applications development for iPhone can join the forum, and share their experience with the developers community.

Scrabble is an AJAX game that I have written last year and release it today to public the first alpha version :-) The first version was using Prototype and this one is using jQuery, improved in addition to a countdown timer. There is some bugs, if you face one simply refresh and play again. Ideas how to improve this ?

AJAX Magazine got the scoop this week to announce Morfik WebOS AppsBuilder 0.9.16.1 even before Morfik itself. There is a complete coverage on three parts including different features of the AJAX IDE and technology used :

Tomorrow there will be a tutorial on how to create a simple application in the Morfik IDE, and there will be probably a part 4 and 5 later on Morfik architecture and business usage.

Waw finally a new logo for the AJAX Magazine, and I would like to thank Rob for this great job. You won’t see the logo yet on the website, because it will be there with a new design. So april will be the month of relooking for phpmagazine.net, with a new professional design which will reflect the visions that I want to give to this network.

MapBuilder, is a massively Ajax in-browser GIS system: multiple layers, images, all pulled from WFS and WMS servers on the fly. There’s no programming required to insert a map into a web page, just an XML configuration file, a div tag, and an onload=… addition to your body tag.
