I was filtering spam in some email boxes and as usual the newsletters where I have never subscribed and still receiving happily their spams. One of these newsletter from MyPortail.com, spell it correctly it’s half French and half English, I gave them a visit to unsubscribe, and as you can notice in the screenshot there is about 6k happy subscribers in this newsletter :
The first time I was confused because the form is very accessible, but anyway I entered name and email then hit “Desinscription” and nothing, the website tell me that there is something wrong in my email or/and in my name. Certainly there is a problem with my name, I checked their newsletter sources, and nothing indicates the name.
After trying the names of all my family, neighbors, colleagues, and friends, not sure if I missed someone, I noticed an option “Etes vous inscrits?” humm sounds interesting, but I think it’s the same problem if I have lost my name, I’m lost ! I tried blank name with few other names again, and it looks that I’m not subscribed to their newsletter :
My 2 cents, if you run a newsletter run it correctly or don’t. And the 5974 subscribers mean in this case that there is 5974 persons who are not able to unsubscribe.
