If it wasn’t Tim O’Reilly who announce it I won’t believe it sincerely. Yet another media coverage on Energy innovation and new technologies in Energy engineering, but this time in a O’Reilly conference. Tim announced that energy innovation conference won’t be only computers related, but very general. A business oriented conference in my opinion won’t tell nothing, it will just confirm for example that Biodiesel is a renewable energy, strange that it become very obvious to professionals.
At O’Reilly, we like to think we’re focused on early adopters. But two New York Times articles yesterday, Tech Barons Take on Energy Policy and Silicon Valley Rebounds, Led by Green Technology, suggest we’re right in the middle of a tidal wave with our new Energy Innovation Conference. I’m a bit nervous with all this investor focus that some of the worldchanging approaches to energy generation, storage, distribution, conservation, and use that might emerge from non-commercial players might be overshadowed by hype and hungry VCs.
Welcome to the Energy world Tim !
I’m not sure if this have something to do with these super-hero series.
I just want to welcome the new in the city Nokia Freeware, a community website for Nokia users and fans with an ultimate collection of software to make a better mobile experience. The website is very new, just two months old, I only announce it two days ago on StumbleUpon, and today on my blog, while I some others already find it from search engines and so.
The idea is too much fun, in addition to the database of freeware there are some good tips and tricks, a forum, in addition to a mobile edition of the website and forum. So if you are fan of Symbians and Nokia here is a new destination to add to your bookmarks. And let me know what do you think ?
Waw José is really amazing, he make me blush today with a revised version of my cartoon. Well I was jealous that I didn’t got some fantasies around the face like he did with others, so today he send me version two of my iconized face, and final version
I was surprised last week when I saw in pam_unix log the number of failed root login to my server, and it become daily attack from the same IP. No more than today Authentication Failures: root (200.246.46.154): 728 Time(s) !! I checked the IP origin, and found it from Brazil (Embratel.net.br) and contacted their provider’s abuse service but of course I’m not sure if someone will follow the email.
sshd:

If this continue a simple change password will broke their trials, but I’m lazy to remember another password by heart. And it’s one of the reasons why I like WHM/Cpanel to admin web-servers, because it make it really easy and fun, simply install and configure it correctly then just read logs and no worries.
I was playing with CafePress and my new cartoon and got this result : Hatem’s Shop
Interesting idea for bloggers to sell something original and monetize their blogs, maybe to get famous too ? I used the free version of CafePress in addition to the $50 for my iconized photo, that’s not a big budget to run a small business for fun. If the for fun shop works well, you can later expand it and get a personalized shop for $59.95 per year with CafePress or use any free shopping software such oscommerce or others.
I have updated yesterday to the latest MT 3.34, while I was using a beta CSV version of the software, but what’s new is that I heard a lot about FastCGI recently and was excited to give it a try not only for MT, but also for PHP as many developers announced excellent performance.
Until now I have just recompiled Apache, PHP with FastCGI support. The issue I noticed in compile from documentation is that the default apxs always fail to compile mod_fastcgi, so I used another local version situated at /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs. I opted for changing cgi handler to mod_fastcgi from server, but MT was enable to work properly. I didn’t want to change URL structure so if you get it working that would be really great.

This is not really new, but xentheon - where is my mind is the most craziest linux home page I have ever seen. I don’t know the zoom level you should have so you can make a similar screenshot, but you can always try :
I got this week Keif Alhal DVD, and watch it on weekend. I was interested to see the movie that Rotana have very well promoted, and announced as the first Saudi movie, while I’m not really sure that it’s really the first one. For a start I’ll say the movie is really great, showing many aspects of the saudi society and culture that are unknown for other arab countries. You see many people mocking of Mutawaa and their severe ideologies, but it’s interesting to see how the Saudi society accept them and deal with them. Lot of issues regarding religion, religious, arts, women’s driving cars, …etc.
I loved the actors especially the grandfather, how he’s joking, defending his grandson , trying to keep the family always together, a very special personality, or maybe the youngest one ! It could be a better comedy movie discussing the different social topics, while in this case it’s not all comedy and not all family drama, it’s the unclassified that I really didn’t like. If I have to give an overall note I’ll say 7/10.
