Last Wednesday I visited the Tunisian Consulate in Jeddah, I was about two years late but it’s good to have my consular card anyway. First I took long time before finding the conulate bulding, I know approximatively in which quarter it is, but it looks like the quarter was the biggest in the city. After an hour of turning around and asking here and there I found it !! At the entrance the security guy peeked at my shorts, maybe he was thinking about kicking me out from the door, it was very hot outside ! But he took my information then let me in.

Inside, I found few people waiting. I went directly to the officer, he first checked if I had the necessary, then he gave me two papers to fill. The poor guy it looks like he was suffering from people filling papers in french or english, but he was so happy when I give him back my papers filled in arabic after two minutes. In the same time a guy came and start to quarrel for his passport which he was waiting for since two weeks !! Something very common to see in the Tunisian administrations, but the guy was so impolite that if I have to decide there I’ll delay him for two other months !!

The guy insulted the officier, and I was there watching all the scene !! After few minutes the consul came, I recognized him from first glance, from the way he walk, his clothing, even that it was my first visit there. He was looking at me, I don’t know for my clothing or my barb, or maybe he thought that it was me who was making troubles. Then the officier called the guy and let him in with the consul, and again started his blablabla …

I was shocked from such comportment, and anyway after all that the guy left the consulate without anything at all ! The officier finished my papers, I paid my consular card and the 2626 :-) It was already 11h30, I went to the second appointment to grab more papers, then It was time go home. At 2h pm I was already at home, took a shower then falled asleep.

That was my first visit to the Tunisian Consulate in Jeddah, until next visit I’ll tell you what changed ! But this could be in two years probably more :-)
