It’s really long time that I didn’t play any sport at all, and believe me it’s very bad ! I was saying to find a sports hall since months, and yesterday finally I just found it. I went very late about 10pm and the swimming pool close at 11pm, so started with some exercises with the bicycle, running … etc for about 20min and then Sauna. It was very hot !! And finally find 10min in the 3m swimming pool before it close.

In the beginning I’ll be going day after day and then we’ll see how to continue, maybe two times a week something like that. Anyway I’ve registered for three months so I think it will be great ! Oups I forgot the trainer give us a diet, but something impossible to do here I think. I have to find the paper first :-)

There was discussion recently in the blogosphere about the fact that Yahoo is banning the word “Allah” from their registration system. This have been found by a blogger and slashdotted too, result : Yahoo! answered very fast and reviewed again their system. The problem is that Yahoo! banned “Allah”, but allowed words like Jesus, God … so I guess there was something wrong !

“A small number of people registered for IDs using specific terms with the sole purpose of promoting hate, and then used those IDs to post content that was harmful or threatening to others, thus violating Yahoo’s Terms of Service,” the statement said. “‘Allah’ was one word being used for these purposes, with instances tied to defamatory language. We took steps to help protect our users by prohibiting use of the term in Yahoo usernames. We recently re-evaluated the term ‘Allah,’ and users can now register for IDs with this word because it is no longer a significant target for abuse.”

You certainly heared about Birds Flu, all tvs and news channels talks only about it these days. Infected birds have been discovered here and there and people are more and more afraid. First, according to the OMS there is only 100 person dead by Birds Flu and this from 1997 until 2006 ! So you can see that it’s not that dangerous, the only problem about Birds Flu that if you call doctors and ask them about this virus they become speechless and don’t find anything to say.

Maybe this is what is scaring the world, that they know almost nothing about this virus. Even the actions that are taken in some countries are not scientific at all and are not based on exact informations. But there is things which are very easy to know, if chicken are infected with the H5N1 virus it will be dead in 5 minutes, so there is no need to stop eating chicken at all, the persons that are more able to be infected with the virus are those who are in direct contact with them.

It’s again another problem of information and mediatization of the subject. The virus isn’t new and not the only one in the world, there is tons of dangerous virus of degree 6 and nobody talk about them. AIDS, Car accidents, wars are killing thousands and thousands more of people compared to 100 people in ten years ! And media talking about the possibility of the virus to evolute, hell all virus evolute this is their nature of virus. There is no need to condemn all chickens of the world to stop the virus, it won’t stop it, just condemn the infected and suspected to have the virus only. And then inform !!!! specially infom people that you don’t know what are you talking about, don’t just affray them.

The BBC is reporting that US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is unhappy with the existing propaganda systems in place and insists that the US must create a ‘more effective, 24-hour propaganda machine’ or risk losing the battle for the minds of Muslims. In an era where we’ve already got government-created and funded media outlets and the Pentagon bribing Iraqi journalists to run favorable war stories, not to mention other departments paying journalists to endorse their positions, it begs the question, how much more can they possibly do?

Com’on this is my head and make me a brain wash, isn’t this more easy ?? You can talk about politics, democracy, freedom the way you want but don’t touch to islam ! It’s a lost battle before to start it. In the same time that the american government declaring that their war is against terrorism and bla bla bla, they declare also war against islam and that’s what Rumsfeld is confirming. They forgot that there is things in this world more powerful than everything which is God. Make the propaganda that you want, you are simply loosing your money and your time.

Surah Baqara, verse 143 “Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.”

220.181.27.54 is ranked 28 in the Alexa Top 100 so you can imagine that you are dealing with a high traffic website, but what is funny is that this IP is owned by PostgreSQL website. Googling for the 220.181.27.54 return PostgreSQL website, interesting hein ? So I was wondering why the IP is considered in the Top 100 and not the domain name ? Is there any problems with PostgreSQL domain name, or there is a problem with Alexa ? Notice that there is another IP in the top 100, which is the 72.14.203.104, but this one refer to Google service.

Slashdotted today

http://hatemben.com/upload/2006/02/spaceflight-thumb.png

The only company to have sent tourists into space, Space Adventures, has announced plans to develop a commercial spaceport in the UAE, from where it will operate suborbital flights. The project will cost $265 million. The Russian-built suborbital vehicle called Explorer will have the capacity to transport up to five people to an altitude of nearly 100km in space, but the project’s schedule is yet to be announced

I laughed at reading comments, just wondering why UAE was choosed for such big project ? Someone said that I hear gas is cheaper than drinking water in the middle east., yes its certainly cheaper but not that cheap. Prices of gas and petrol increased in the last years very considerably, and still increasing but still acceptable compared to other countries. A stingy who hear this and visit the middle east will certainly drink gas in place of water :-)

Notice that spaceship use fuel just during ignition, but generally the liquid oxygen is used to propulse the engine to outerspace. So in my opinion the main reason behind using UAE is not fuel, but the country is the better place for such tourism activity. Remember that the only 6 stars hotel exist only in UAE and nowhere else in the world.

Slashdotted yesterday, a 1.2 Petabyte Hard Drive ? If mega is 1,024 times kilo, giga is 1,024 times mega, tera is 1,024 times giga Then peta is 1,024 times tera !

faraday.gif

A story at P2P.net US inventor Michael Thomas, owner of Colossal Storage, says he’s the first person to solve non-contact optical spintronics which will in turn ultimately result in the creation of 3.5-inch discs with a million times the capacity of any hard drive - 1.2 petabytes of storage, to be exact. According to the article, In the past, data storage has only been able to orient the direction a field of electrons as they move around a molecule, Thomas said. “But now there’s a way to rotate or spin the individual electrons that make up, or surround, the molecule,” he says. He expects a finished product to be on the market in about four to five years, adding the cost would probably be in the range of $750 each.”
