Vebjّrn Selbekk and Edgar Kokkvold are the two guys behind the caricature pictures of the prophet PBUH which have been published in magazinet in Denmark. These two guys are going to make the Denmark loose more than 39 milliard Euro if the boycott of “made in Denmark” continue until august 2006 according to a news in the first television of the country.
When we talk about freedom, we should talk also about the freedom of the others. And what those guys have made is called racism, defamation and distortion against Islam and not freedom !
If you don’t know products made in denmark, here is a small list (let me know if you have more):

There is a petition online to the Magazinet editor Vebjoern Selbekk that you can find here. If they are impolite to insult us, we are more civilized to boycott their products and we’ll see who will win in the end.
Update : Just wanted to add that there is no real “Freedom of Speech” in Denmark, for example you are not allowed to talk about Nazi, Jews and what happened before in Germany. Nobody can even investiguate about the real number of Jews that have been tortured there !

I checked the list from www.denmark.dk, I didn’t invent it myself. If you feel that insulting the the prophet PBUH don’t concern u, you are not asked to defend his person. Just buy what you want to buy.

I don’t need to defend the prophet. I think this whole thing is a joke anyway…The prophet doesn’t need to be defended. If you really believe that he is the only prophet etc..do you think that it would affect him or anybody what some jerks could say?
How about all the Arab cartoons that are against Jesus? Isn’t that about the same thing too? Do you see the “Infidels” freaking out over this?

And you have to think about it again, because things like this make me think that you have no consideration to humanity at all. Which is not true, the opinion of the newspaper don’t reflect the opinion of all the country or its government.
Second, please give just one single reason to publish such caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Its insulting and disgusting towards his person, Peace be uppon him, while he was send as a mercy to the whole world. Its inacceptable in our culture to say lies on the Prophet PBUH. There is general rules in life, if you want the other to respect you start by respecting yourself.
Third, and finaly to not be long, our hearts are full of love to our prophet PBUH, not of hate as u said. If you love someone too much, what will be your reaction ? to laugh ??
Lot of companies are loosing thousands of millions of euros everyday, and you’ll see the effect of this on the economy of your country, and am sorry this is not funny at all too !. But remember that this boycott started when the diplomacy failed and all efforts of the muslims community in your country goes without being heared or considered at all. And this is the minimum that we can do from our places everywhere in the world to contest.
If freedom meant to insult the others, people have to reconsider what freedom is.

First of all, it’s not correct to publish such caricatures. But the newspaper and the people whose publish this, can*t imagine what they do.

I’m not Danish. I come from the ex comunistic eastern germany. We fought for our freedom and democracy without weapons, without hate, without burning houses only peacefully.

And why not full of love with the people whose life with you on planet earth?
Your Prophet won’t that you burn, that you boycott and so on. Your Prophet is maybe a strong person, and strong persons have no hate against their enemys.

chris please be more realistic, they asked lot of caricaturist to make these cartoons, only a few of them have answered !! It was a prepared campain, and they know what they are doing.
They apologize ? Okay let me explain you, imagine someone slap you violently in your face, and then he tell you I’m not sorry that I slap you, but very sorry that it hurt !!! They’re just mocking, but I don’t know of who !

Anybody tells “funny” is a liar!
The important thing is the character used is named “Muhammed”…
If they had said -ok, this man is any of terrorists call themself Muslim, but not-…
It could be tolerated.
They should say; “the Prophet is not a terrorist,Himself. He is a sign of mercy of God”
But the terrorists use His name in their work.

The least we can do as regular people not to buy denmark products. But the real reaction which can cause serious things can be made only by governmetns. If the governments of islamic countries,like Turkiye, do something rather than condenm, like sending back ambassadors of denmark and call back their own ambassadors.

Okay I give you a simple reason.
What we hear about the near east is only fighting
and bombing, and so the newspaper print such caricatures with the bombs. They should symbolize the religious War in Your Countries!
Religious - > Prophet
War - > Bomb

But it was a caricature for the danish population and not for you. And your terroristic people spread this all over your country. But it was not for you !!!
We have no problems with such caricatures , we are more open, and if you think with holocaust caricatures you can provocate us, that we fight, you are wrong. We are tolerant and thats the reason why such caricatures are not bad for us or such from the second world war.
And if you said that you protest only against the caricatures. Its wrong. Now its a protest against the western countries ! Norway and so on.
You cant say me that such big demonstrations are only because of the caricatures. Why do the muslimes not protest in september when the caricatures whre publish ?
In denmark for example. The reason is the the muslime who live in the western countries have not problems with this, of course they are not happy but they are not hateful !!!

Yes that’s it, you answered the question. That’s “what you hear really” and we know what’s the effect of media, the disinformation for the profit of some governments and politics. And they succeeded somewhere, USA created bin laden, and armed him to kick russia from afghanistan, then used him to attack afghanistan while until today there is no precise info about who’s behin the 9/11, they armed Saddam and encourage him in the war against Iran, then when they find the opportunity he become a tyran and have been kicked off …
Iran, the holocaust, is another story. I don’t agree personaly, I don’t agree attacking the ambassy like what happened in some countries also.
And I told you they didn’t protest before, because the muslims community in Denmark tryed first to contact the government, the newspaper to find a solution but they were not accepted anywhere ! That’s why they spread the news in the muslim community. You can see how long they was trying from september to february 6 months, you maybe didn’t hear about it when it first released. But when all the doors where closed, everybody should know.
I think 6 months is enough to negociate ?

I would like to say if someone insult your Dad or Mom , and made fun of them in some newspaper,would it be freedom to Say what you want,and what is your feelings if you Love them??
