The new year holidays of this year looks to be special for me, even that I’m not concerned directly. Personaly I didn’t got holidays since I got my engineering diploma, anyway it was since school … I want to go back school ! My parents when I was child told me to work hard to finish your studies and then I can have time to rest, but this will never happen I knew.
I took few days resting before with family, but really in our job of IT, engineering … you’ll never find resting time enough, because of busy working days, sometimes spending even 48 hours working non stop for a reason or another. But fortunately I can feel the holidays coming soon and I really can’t wait to take these holidays.
This year I noticed for the first time the influence of christmas on website. Many are talking about a lost of traffic around 80%, for my case it was about 66% in two days ! Even if this month phpmagazine.net is receiving about 100,000 visitor and 400,000 Page view. The figure below show a sample stats of the decreasing visits and PV :
And the traffic is slowly coming back ! Of course less traffic came with less revenue but it was not a big deal for me, the adsense experience I got this year was very special and I’m able to play easily with it to optimize revenue. And this was more interesting for me than the revenue itself.
Today I’ll be going on a small trip in the red sea, again yeah ! so I’ll be back in two or three days, anyway saturday and sunday are normal work day for me so I’ll be around as usual.
