Solar is a “simple object library and application repository” for PHP5. That is, Solar is a combined class library, component suite, and application development framework.

Solar 0.4.0 is a public development release, I just discovered so I’ll try to have a look. The kind of framework I like :-P

W3C Voice Browser Working Group have released a Candidate Recommendation of the VoiceXML 2.1

VoiceXML 2.1 maintain complete backwards-compatibility with VXML 2.0 and introduce elements :

  • data : Fetches arbitrary XML data from a document server.
  • foreach : Iterates through an ECMAScript array.

Other elements that have been enhanced :

  • disconnect : Disconnects a session.
  • grammar : References a speech recognition or DTMF grammar.
  • mark : Declares a bookmark in a sequence of prompts.
  • property : Controls platform settings.
  • script : References a document containing client-side ECMAScript
  • transfer : Transfers the user to another destination.

PHP Voice will be updated with the new versions as soon as it become a W3C recommandation, but I’ll try to make a development version available to explore functionnality of the new VoiceXML 2.1 very soon.

Maybe many are asking about a new PHP Tunisie Magazine edition ? when it will be released if there is a new edition ? In reality the magazine is almost ready since last month, but I didnt released because I didnt like the main article of the magazine about a game that I’ve called “L’ile aux tresors”. The good news that I’ve find a solution to make this game not boring and I promise that I’ll work on it and make the magazine available as soon as possible. For those who can’t wait this is a screenshot of the development version of the game :
